Synergy Group Guide

Half-Full, Of Course!
___________________________________________________________________________________________

Welcome & Catch-Up
At the beginning of each meeting:
  • Welcome new guest(s) to the Synergy Group.
  • Provide introductions and updates on your businesses and lives. How have you seen God working in your business this week? (End with guests)
  • Open in prayer to get focused.
Leadership
Great leaders are great learners. (Proverbs 1:5) Each business leader discusses the topics below. Be prepared to share from personal experience and expand on your own knowledge.

  1. Are you (or do you know) someone who always sees the glass half-full?  What are the benefits?  The detriments?

  2. Can a business plan for the worst and yet execute the best?  If so, how?

Spiritual Growth
Spiritual growth requires application of biblically-based principles to our every business roles and responsibilities. As a group of Christian business leaders, we can learn from one another and mature.

  1. What does it mean to “Fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:18)

  2. Read 2 Corinthians 4:8-9: “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”  Can you describe a time when you were stretched, but not broken?

General Business Discussion
An opportunity for group members to make special requests for insight, collaboration, or help with accountability.

Praise & Prayer
A special time to discuss recent successes and current needs of the business men and women in the group.  P
rayer is an important part of seeking him first (Matthew 6:33) in everyday business. Use the space below to list the group’s prayer requests.  Pray together and throughout the week.

Networking
Weekly, we have time for sharing, announcements, special requests, and fellowship. At the end of each quarter, groups can celebrate with a special gathering.

Challenge
This is an opportunity for you to use what you are learning! Challenge yourself with this effort over the next two weeks.  You are invited to share your experiences at the next Synergy Group.

  1. List the activities or tasks where you see the glass half-empty.

  2. Explain how your attitude towards these tasks is helpful and/or not helpful.

  3. Now, focus your attention to the ‘glass half-full’ aspects of the same activities and tasks.
How does that affect your expectations and prayer?

  4. What does your ‘unseen eternity’ have to do with these activities and tasks?
